Scott began his law enforcement career with the West Palm Beach Police Department, where he served with distinction in a variety of assignments. Scott served a majority of his career assigned to the West Palm Beach Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, handling serious felony cases such as robbery, rape, homicide, burglary, firearms violations, narcotics, auto theft, assault, and fraud.
He was ultimately selected for the Financial Crimes Unit, where he specialized in complex investigations involving:
Scott also served as President of the Palm Beach Economic Crime Unit, LLC, a nonprofit organization of nearly 300 public- and private-sector investigators. He led this organization for four terms, fostering collaboration across agencies and industries.
In addition, Scott was a Certified CVSA Examiner, conducting pre-employment and investigative interviews for the police department until his retirement.
After retiring in good standing from the West Palm Beach Police Department, Scott joined the Florida Department of Financial Services, Criminal Investigations Division, Bureau of Insurance Fraud, where he investigated sophisticated, multi-layered insurance fraud organizations.
Scott was selected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to serve on the Greater Palm Beach County Healthcare Fraud Task Force (GPCHCTF). He was credentialed as an FBI Task Force Officer and held a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
